Greetings,

I thought it would be a simple task but my searches have been fruitless. How can I turnoff Volume Subgraph in TOS on individual charts before I detach them.

TIA…. Peter

This is a chart setting. Within the chart settings view there are several tabs. The volume subgraph settings are located on four of those tabs:

  1. Equities
  2. Options
  3. Futures
  4. Forex

The screenshot below shows a default chart displaying the volume subgraph and I have included a screenshot of the chart settings view pointing out where to locate this setting in the Equities tab. Just uncheck the box for each of those four tabs and it will turn off the volume subgraph for all instruments.

Update: I have just published a new video series showing how to use each of the Chart Settings. This is a three part video series that covers every single tab of the Chart Settings window on Thinkorswim:

Thanks Pete. I was reading it literally. When it said it would affect charting of all symbols, I mistakenly assumed it meant all charts. On another note, the site is the answer to so many questions that I am compelled to contribute ahead of any other opportunities I will take to enhance my trading. Cheers.... Peter

Yes I aggree that statement at the top can be a bit missleading. There are subtle changes to that warning message as you move through the various tabs of the chart settings view. The first five tabs state: "These settings affect all chartings". The last four tabs changes from "all chartings" to "charting of all symbols". Meaning that the first five tabs are global settings common to all charts. However that is not exactly true either. There are many settings in the first five tabs the apply only to the currently active chart. Perhaps I need to do a video on this to help folks from getting lost.... Thanks for the voluntary contribution. Very much appreciate.
