Recreate Study Alerts after being triggered

Hi Peter – In TOS, is there a way to keep Chart Study Alerts I have set up “Active” even after they have been triggered? Right now after one of my alerts is triggered, I have to manually go back and reset the Alert for that particular security. It would be much more convenient if that same alert setting just stayed Active after its triggered in the event there are multiple triggers in close time frames or I forget to reset…

Thanks in advance!

Ok, so since we know you are working with a price level alert we can provide a solution to your question. The attached screenshot shows the setting you want to use. It will cause the alert to be automatically regenerated after it has been triggered. This is what I would call one of those “hidden features”. There is no way anyone could figure it out on their own. Even I had to learn it from someone else. Don’t forget to up-vote the answer that solved your question so others can see it clearly.

Hi Eric,

Need to clarify some points here. Screenshots may help. You mention “Chart Study Alerts”. Then you mention having to “go back and reset the Alert for that particular security”. Seems to me those are two completely separate alert types. TOS has about 4 different types. Only one is based on a chart study. I have attached a screenshot that shows the alert settings of a chart based study. I have also attached a screenshot showing a completely different type of alert, one based on price. So take a look and let me know which one you are working with, or perhaps something entirely different. We’ll get it worked out for you.

Hi Peter, yes I should clarify. This would be for the Alerts I have set up in the “Marketwatch” tab, then Alerts > Study Alerts.  When one of those Alerts is triggered, I have to go back in and recreate that same alert condition. I was looking to somehow maybe keep that Alert condition active after being triggered.  If trading multiple currency pairs or Futures, manually going back to re-set the alerts is time consuming and sometimes miss a breakout if not set in time..
