sorry for harrassing you with so many questions! is it possible to scan for strike price intervals when playing options? i don’t normally trade option contracts for stocks who’s options strikes are $2.50. i’d like to find stocks with strikes that are just $1 apart on the options chain.

Please don’t ever apologize for posting questions. That’s the entire reason I added this Q&A forum and it’s good to see folks making use of it. I am not aware of any scan on Thinkorswim that you can use to find stocks with options strikes that are $1 wide. In general, you are going to find $1 wide strikes in lower priced stocks that also have a track record of very high open interest and volume. So those are a few things you can mash together to narrow the search. Of much greater importance than the spread between strike prices is the spread between the bid and ask of the At The Money contracts. The tighter the bid/ask spread, the easier it is to get a fair price on entry and exit. Hope it helps. Marked as spam

thanks for the reply. i was actually more concerned about the bid ask spread than i was the strike intervals but didnt think there was a way to scan for stocks with a narrow bid ask spread. is that possible?
I’ve not found a scan for bid/ask spread either. We should probably submit a feature request to TDA as this is lacking. Best bet is to stick with NASDAQ 100 and S&P 100 stocks. That and the index ETF’s.

Would you be able to code a stock strike-price interval filter? Don’t show strike intervals greater than $2. What would you charge for that code?

Pretty sure that was the gist of the original question here. And my answer was no. Thinkorswim does not provide for this.
