Study Alert with ParabolicSARCrossover

I want to create a study alert based on the ParabolicSARCrossover Study. When I go to “create alerts”, I cannot find this study in the menu. Why is that?

Did you search the forum to see if this question has already been asked before? Because it has been asked many times. Here is link for search results using the term "Parabolic" in the search box:

You will find this study is not supported in the Study Alert tool. The reason is that the code uses recursion and that is not supported in the Study Alert tool. If you browse through the search results linked above you will find a work around.

I went through the content of the other thread that you referred to. I have created a Forex watchlist. Then, I created the custom scan using ParabolicSARCrossover(). I have activated the alert function upon change of scan results. I have used the 5 min timeframe, like you suggested, to get a decent number of alerts to verify whether it works. I got some alert with a sound appearing on the screen saying "Alert on AUD/JPY - a symbol has been added". But, I crosschecked the alert with the chart and the ParabolicSARCrossover matches with the alert. But, I do not receive any emails. In the alert triggered list, there is also no record that the alert has been triggered. I have attached all the settings that I have made. What do i need to change?

Sounds to me like you need to adjust your Application Settings to enable email notifications. You have to enter and confirm an email address. The Applications Settings can be accessed from the button at the top right corner of the main Thinkorswim window. The button is named "Setup". There are several tabs across the top of the Setup window. One of them is named "Notifications". Make sure everything is setup correctly there.
