adding a line to last price

hi pete. i hope you and your family are safe and sound.

i want to write a study that adds a line to price automatically. basically like a support line but its

attached to the price and moves with it, so every close has a line attached to it that goes back X amount of candles.

is that even possible? i dont even know how to start tackling that.

maybe you can point me in the right direction.

thank you

to clarify: i dont want to connect one close to the next like a moving average. i want a straight horizontal line connected to the price. i hope that helps

A screenshot was the best way to demonstrate what you are asking for here. But it's too late because the screenshot must be added when you are posting the question. Are you asking for a horizontal line for each and ever candle on the chart? Or are you looking for a single horizontal line for the last bar on the chart? Or something else entirely different?

sorry about that. yes a single horizontal line for the last bar will totally do it. it would be nice if it could go back 14 or so bars or be a variable that can be changed.
