Performance since added to watchlist

Hi Pete,

I’d like to track the performance of a stock/option after I add it to a watchlist. I’m thinking the best way is to track it from the date it was added? Is it possible for TOS to know the close on a specific date?

Ex: Input startdate = 20191101

Close – startdate

Thank you

HI Pete, How would add the input start date to a watchlist? I'm not sure how to do that. Interested in placing a date in the watchlist and see the performance of the stocks since that date. Really appreciate your help in this.

You will need to provide more details. Adding a "user defined input for the date" does nothing until you wire that bugger up to actually compute something. So you will need to explain exactly how you plan to measure "...the performance of the stock since that date...". FYI, we already have a built-in column for "RateOfChange", to which you get to select the number of bars to use for its computation. It may be that your solution already exists. If that built-in column does not fit your needs, you will need to post this as a new question and provide complete details.

Hi Pete, Thank you for the quick response. Your right , let me clarify. Looking to add a date to a watchlist for all the stocks in the watchlist. Show the performance of the stocks in the watchlist from that date forward (I call it a track date). Provide a percentage move from the track date. Here is an example of the watchlist. Watchlist header Symbol track date. Track price Track percentage .....Last price SPY 10/25/2020 (close -track date) Ex. $100 3.00 % 103.00 QQQQ. 10/25/2020. ex. 200.00 1.50% 202.50 Hope this is clarifies what I was looking for. I'm new to coding. Thank you for help. Paul

Ok.... "If that built-in column does not fit your needs, you will need to post this as a new question and provide complete details." New question means an entire new post in the Q&A forum. Not a new comment to an existing post in the Q&A Forum.

What you have requested is impossible with Thinkorswim. If you were to add a custom column to any watchlist, the start date you enter would be applied to every stock in the watchlist. There is no way to input a different date for each row of the watchlist.
