hi , can i get sms alerts to outside us number ?
I don’t have any way of testing that out myself. Have you tried it? This is a question for TD Ameritrade.
tried. not enough places. probably not. will check with them. thanks.
I’m interested in creating an indicator that shows the average of an RSI and then having a scan that shows when the RSI crosses above or below that average. Your videos are great, but I can’t figure out how to do what I’m trying to do.
You will not be able to do this by using only the Condition Wizard. The only way to do this on Thinkorswim is to copy the code from the RSI study into your own custom study. Then compute the moving average of the RSI within that custom study. I checked the Q&A Forum but I did not see that this has requested this yet.
Hi Pete, In looking at the “Thinkorswim Scans Beginner to Advanced” Video I noticed you had your own personal scans that you have put in your watchlist. Can you let us know the criteria you may have used to generate these watchlists, and what those watchlists are looking for.
I am not asking for the actual stocks in your watchlists that might be your favorite, because that is personal to you.
I have looked at several of your detailed videos and the are very informative with great explanations.
Thank you for all of your expertise and the time you spend putting all this together and making it available.

Most of the scans you see listed in my library were created for clients. I don’t really use this much for my own purposes. The disclaimer at the beginning of each video is the real deal. I am only a software developer. One who happens to know a great deal about financial markets and trading platforms.
I am thankful for people like yourself who are so knowledgeable AND that share their knowledge. Your videos are the only resource I can find for being able to start to use the advanced features in TOS that really go in depth and explain so clearly. Because of your videos: I figured out how to make semi-auto trades for when I am watching a stock looking for a particular setup, I have created dynamic watchlist columns that give me a “true” value for my time frames that let me know at a glance when they have moved above a certain point or out of it, and best of all, I have made my own strategy that not only gives me a visual buy and sell on all of my time frames with a report on its success but I recently learned how to change the period of reporting for the strategy report. I am still learning but don’t know where else I would have gotten such help to do those things. Thanks!.
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide this detailed feedback explaining all of the things you have been able to learn and apply by viewing our free video tutorials. I am always very excited to get feedback like this. I helps me to know I am hitting my marks. Take care, and best of luck to your in your trading!
Thank you, Pete. You are truly a godsend to noobs like us who know nuts about tech stuff like this. This video is a huge help to people like me who have just started with thinkorswim. Again, much thanks and appreciation for your effort.
Awesome, very glad to know this video was helpful. Thanks for taking the time to express your feedback and appreciation!
Pete thank you so much! You did a great service! Job well Done!

Pete I would like to thank you for sharing your knowledge. The video was helpful and I learned a lot.
Thanks so much for taking the time to express your feedback and appreciation.
Thank you for this content Peter. I did not know a lot of the stuff you covered in this today and was actively looking to subscribe to something like stockcharts.com or finviz.com. Do you think these two that I listed have features that are much richer than what ToS offers out-of-the-box?
Sorry but I do not have any experience using the scan tools from those two platforms you mentioned.
Hi Lakshmi – I have a FinViz subscription and have found it better and faster than TOS scans. I suggest testing it out for a month or so.
